1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all users who purchase a membership or register for events through the Biological Psychiatry Australia (BPA) website. By completing a purchase, you agree to these terms.

2. Membership and Registration

BPA memberships are valid until the expiry date of the purchased membership. For yearly memberships, this is 30 June, the year after the membership was purchased. For three-year memberships, this is 30 June three years after the purchase date.
Event registrations (e.g. conference tickets) are valid only for the specified event and are non-transferable unless written permission is granted by BPA.
It is your responsibility to provide accurate and up-to-date personal information during the registration or membership process.

3. Payments

All prices listed are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.
Payment must be made at the time of purchase using the approved payment methods on the BPA website.
Receipts will be issued via email upon successful payment.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

Membership fees are non-refundable except as required under Australian Consumer Law.
Event registration cancellations may be eligible for a partial refund if requested in writing to BPA at least 14 days prior to the event. No refunds will be issued after this date, except under extenuating circumstances at BPA’s discretion.
If BPA cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund or the option to transfer registration to a future event.

5. Code of Conduct

By participating in BPA events or becoming a member, you agree to uphold respectful and professional behaviour at all times. BPA reserves the right to revoke membership or event access in the event of serious misconduct.

6. Changes to Events or Services

BPA reserves the right to modify event programs, speakers, dates, or locations if required. Notice of any significant changes will be provided via email or the BPA website.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, BPA is not liable for any loss or damage arising from:

Use or misuse of the website
Acts of third parties, including service providers
Event changes or cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances
